BitJuggler is a comprehensive audio AUv3 / IAA plugin designed to replicate vintage digital processing and recreate digital imperfections authentically. Whether you aim to evoke the 80's digital sound from early personal computers, infuse vintage sampler characteristics into your audio productions, or push your audio boundaries beyond analog simulation, BitJuggler excels in delivering meticulous digital imperfections.

Explore advanced features
BitJuggler caters to all fundamental bit crushing requirements, offering a range of quantization schemes including linear, a-law, and mu-law quantization along with an optional envelope follower. Moreover, the audio resampler containing various resampling algorithms effortlessly generates creative digital aliasing effects.

Introduce musical noise
BitJuggler features speech and transform codec simulators that accurately produce musical noise reminiscent of transform codecs like MP3 or AAC. The inclusion of a GSM speech codec introduces spectrally shaped noise through linear predictive coding (LPC), while options for dithering and perceptual noise shaping encourage experimentation.

Enhanced imperfection shaping
BitJuggler offers pre- and post-emphasis options for digital clipping, quantization, and resampling to provide distinct capabilities for refining the effects of the bit crushing process.

Visualize alterations
A distinctive feature of BitJuggler is its real-time visualization of errors induced by bit depth and sample rate reduction. This visualization tool aids in educational scenarios, allowing students to audibly perceive and visually comprehend the introduced imperfections.

Dynamic modulation
The integrated low-frequency oscillator (LFO) enables modulation of bit depth and resampling properties, facilitating the creation of dynamic soundscapes where aliasing and quantization components evolve over time and frequency.

ToneBoosters BitJuggler app captures microphone or external sound card input for real-time signal processing. To use it as a plugin, integrate it into an AUv3-compatible host app such as Steinberg Cubasis, Apple Garageband, Audio Evolution Mobile Studio, Auria, AUM, or similar platforms. The ToneBoosters BitJuggler plugin becomes accessible within the list of Audio Unit extensions for effect plugins.
